New brand identity revealed for Catania Airport
Società Aeroporto Catania (SAC), Catania Airport’s management company, appointed Steer Davies Gleave to develop a new visual identity for the Airport to be applied to the various customer touch-points. The brief was to define a unique brand for the airport to increase awareness and communicate more effectively with all its user groups, leisure and business travellers. The brand is also set to become a unifying element for the various companies operating directly and indirectly in the airport.
Central to the brand development work was the aspiration to communicate the airport’s commitment to improving the passenger experience, reinforcing its values of generosity, comfort, user-friendliness and vitality, as well as underlining the crucial role of the airport the connectivity of the island.
Along with the more traditional elements such as signage, staff uniforms and stationary, the new visual identity has also been applied to the airport environment, to provide a fuller brand experience. This complex project required an in-depth consultation phase among multiple stakeholders and SAC, which will act as brand guardian.
Steer Davies Gleave has worked alongside SAC in the definition, development and design of the new brand, and currently is working to overhaul the system the airport wayfinding and signage system.
