Ricardo Montecino returns to Steer Davies Gleave as an Associate Director

Ricardo Montecino rejoins Steer Davies Gleave after almost five years working in the public sector, at the Executive Authority for the Metropolitan Public Transport (DTPM) in Santiago, Chile. He joins Steer Davies Gleave’s Latin American team as an Associate Director and will be based in their Santiago de Chile office.

Powers awarded for the Bank Station Capacity Upgrade scheme

London Underground Limited (LUL) has been awarded its Transport and Works Act Order (TWAO) for the Bank Station Capacity Upgrade scheme, giving them powers to now build a bigger and better station at Bank.

The Bank Station Capacity Upgrade scheme is a major upgrade of the Bank Monument Station Complex in the heart of the City of London and the UK economy. The £536 million scheme includes works to provide improved passenger access and increased circulation and interchange space. It will deliver:

IV Railway Package: New opportunities for Italian companies to be involved in the EU railway single market

Steer Davies Gleave’s Marco Concari contributed to a workshop organised by Fondazione BNC in Rome discussing the implications for Italy of the IV Railway Package, currently under scrutiny by the European Council.

Marco illustrated the contents of the proposal licensed by the European Commission and the contribution of  Steer Davies Gleave in the preparation of the new railway package, along with other work SDG has undertaken in the past ten years with both the European Commission and the European Parliament in shaping the EU rail policy.

20mph speed limits and their effectiveness

There is a growing use of 20mph (30km/h) speed limits across London, which have been implemented as part of the drive to improve road safety, particularly for pedestrians and cyclists. However, there is a lack of a coherent evidence base which could be used to inform future 20mph policy in London.
