Helen Waters and Richard Aitken join Steer Davies Gleave

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Helen Waters and Richard Aitken, who join the firm to strengthen our offer in rail operations, rolling stock and innovation. 

Helen Waters joins as an Associate Director. Helen will lead the expansion of Steer Davies Gleave’s capabilities in these areas to both the firm’s existing and new rail clients. 

A Strategic Cycling Analysis to expand London's cycle network

Transport for London has recently published its Strategic Cycling Analysis report, which draws on innovative data to identify where best to expand London’s cycle network. The analysis takes account of existing and potential cycling demand and growth forecasts to identify where investment in cycling infrastructure could have the biggest impact in terms of growing cycling in the capital. The report gives an indication of where the next Cycle Superhighways, Quietways and Liveable Neighbourhoods will be built over the next ten years.

Steer Davies Gleave delivers a Personal Travel Planning for Hackney Council

There is a renewed interest in Personal Travel Planning (PTP) as an approach to influencing behaviour as some London Boroughs develop programmes to implement Low and Zero Emission Neighbourhoods.  Steer Davies Gleave has been commissioned by Hackney Council to deliver a PTP programme which will support four key projects underway in the borough including the City Fringe Zero Emission Network.  

Evaluating the impact of a new shared electric bikes programme in England

Steer Davies Gleave is working on behalf of Carplus/Bikeplus to evaluate the impacts of a new shared electric bikes programme. The programme, funded by the Department for Transport (DfT), supports the development of eleven projects in cities, rural areas and tourism hotspots in England. 

PTP, a route to a more active lifestyle

While there is widespread acknowledgement of an obesity crisis, there is a lack of consensus on how the Government should deal with it. New evidence obtained recently by Steer Davies Gleave has given weight to the fact that Personalised Travel Planning can be a cost-effective way of increasing active travel. This is in addition to its benefits to the economy, congestion reduction and air quality.
