Rail-freight liberalisation in Europe II

European commision
The First Railway Package, adopted by the European Parliament in 2001, is intended to create the conditions for a liberalised rail-freight market where any operator in possession of the relevant licenses can gain access to the Trans European Rail Freight Network. In 2006 Steer Davies Gleave, on behalf of the European Commission, assessed how each EU Member State had implemented the directives of this First Railway Package. Read more »
