The Graduate Scheme

SDG - The Graduate Scheme

A real job from day one

Steer Davies Gleave’s eighteen-month Graduate Scheme gives graduates the opportunity to learn about the different types of work we get involved in while gaining valuable skills for a career in transport consultancy. The Graduate Scheme operates in our UK offices in LondonLeeds and Manchester.

How it works
During the eighteen-month Graduate Scheme, graduates will have the opportunity to work on projects across the business. As part of the Graduate Scheme, graduates receive:

  • classroom training focusing on:

 Steer Davies Gleave, our clients, projects and market areas;
• technical skills, including site visits to understand our work on the ground;
• consulting skills; and
• project management.

  • a Personal Supervisor — a senior member of staff who is responsible for your day-to-day well-being and career development;
  • a buddy — this is a graduate one to two years ahead of you who will help you settle into the company;
  • a mentor — a more experienced member of the company who will work with you to develop your skills; and
  • opportunities to get involved in our Research and Innovation Club and develop your ideas into projects.

What you get out of it
While building your skills and experience, the Graduate Scheme also helps you find out where your talents and interest best fit. You will have the opportunity to hear from experts across the company, find out about the different markets we operate in and work across different modes of transport during your eighteen-month Graduate Scheme.
